Travel to Queenstown

If you are traveling from within New Zealand, you can either choose to drive to Queenstown or fly into Queenstown Airport (ZQN).

If you are traveling from outside New Zealand, we encourage you to travel to Auckland International Airport (AKL), and then purchase a separate domestic round trip ticket to Queenstown Airport (ZQN).

While you are welcome to arrive as close to the wedding day, or extend your holiday and travel around New Zealand, we invite you to arrive Queenstown no later than Friday 5 January 2024, and to join us in the activities we have planned throughout the weekend before the ceremony on Monday.

Transportation

If you are only flying in/out of Queenstown, we wouldn't recommend renting a car as there is a public bus that can get you from the airport to the town centre or even Kamana Lakehouse very easily. However, if you are planning on traveling around the South Island before/after the wedding, then renting a car is definitely a good idea. Please be advised that parking is very limited inside the town centre. Free parking is available at Kamana Lakehouse (around 10 min drive outside the town centre).

For those utilising public transportation, you can catch the bus right outside of the airport. Bus fares are currently $2 NZD per ride with a Bee card or $4 NZD per ride without the card.
(it costs $5 NZD to purchase the card which can be done on the bus - cash only).

Accommodation Recommendations

For accommodation before/after the wedding date (8th January), we highly recommend you to book your accommodation as soon as possible as January is the highest peak time for tourism in Queenstown.
